The ERC is a welcoming resource centre and school community hub staffed by our library and IT support teams.

It provides a learning environment that not only supports the curriculum but also encourages lifelong learning in our students.

The ERC features a collection of fiction and non-fiction books, teacher references and 20 desktop computers.

It is a popular area for supervised study, reading and research. Classes may also be booked into the ERC by their subject teachers. Weekly Year 7 and Year 8 English sessions are regularly timetabled.

At recess and lunchtime, students can select from our range of chess, board games and card games.

ERC staff work co-operatively with students, teachers and school management to provide:

• an inviting space that fosters curiosity, social interaction, respectful behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• resources that support and enrich the curriculum
• the services and technologies needed to gain maximum access to information
• access to an organised collection of resources and services in a supportive environment conducive to building study, reading, comprehension and research skills 

The ERC promotes itself as the centre of learning by:

• Regular promotion of books to encourage reading enjoyment
• Showcasing student work and achievement from around the school
• Encouraging students to study in the ERC and to use resources
