Assistant Principal's Message
The Senior Sub-School has high expectations for our students in relation to levels of work output. Students need to strive to work at their best and seek to constantly improve. In my experience, students who acknowledge feedback will refine skills and knowledge that can be transformed into high level results. The Senior Sub-School welcomes all students in their common goal in ‘forging a successful future’, whether that is through academic results or successful pathways. The partnership between the school, student and parents/carers is essential as a key driver of success for each child. We simultaneously encourage positive and appropriate relationships both within and outside the classroom.
Forging Successful Futures
The motto of the Sunbury Downs College Senior Sub-School is ‘Forging Successful Futures’. The ability to set goals and aim towards a positive, exciting adulthood for our senior students is a vital part of creating excellence in the senior years. The College Values of Respect, Resilience, Ambition and Community become a way of life for the senior students.
As Assistant Principal of the Senior Years, I oversee the student management, engagement and wellbeing for students in Years 11-12. This includes working with our Senior Sub-School Team of Leaders and Teachers, to ensure College policies are implemented relating to uniform, academic achievement and student success.
I support our Senior Sub-School Leader(s) and Year Level Co-ordinators in working with parents and students to provide a safe learning environment, where every student matters.
Mr Michael Watson
